Adventure Cooking 101 with Fernweh Food Co.

Our pal Ashley Lance will be in the shop schooling us on making delicious and nutritious packable food. Ashley is the founder of Fernweh Food Company, a startup that reimagines backcountry food while reducing/eliminating packaging. Ashley’s passion and creativity for good food in the outdoors is matched by the depth of her knowledge in food science and nutrition. She’s like the Iron Chef of the forest.

Adventure Cooking 101 is an in-depth overview of the basics of cooking outside. We will review everything from what to pack (both gear and food) to how to pick out the right food for your adventure. We will also discuss recipe resources, the best places to shop for adventure foods, and how to put together a perfect meal plan. This class is great for those who are looking to step up their backcountry cooking game or for those those who are brand new to bikepacking or backpacking.

The cost of registration is $30. In addition to two hours of small-group instruction, each participant will get to leave with a one-of-a-kind Makeshifter Snacky Sack ($9 value!) and a small-batch made Fernweh Food Company meal ($8 value!) of their choice.
